اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ العَجْزِ، والكَسَلِ، والجُبْنِ، والبُخْلِ، والهَرَمِ، والقَسْوَةِ، والغَفْلَةِ، والعَيْلَةِ، والذِّلَّةِ، والمَسْكَنَةِ، وأعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الفَقْرِ، والكُفْرِ، والفُسُوقِ، والشِّقاقِ، والنِّفاقِ، والسُّمْعَةِ، والرِّياءِ، وأعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الصَّمَمِ، والبَكَمِ، والجُنُونِ، والجُذامِ، والبَرَصِ، وَسَيِّىءِ الأَسْقامِ
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal’ajzi wal kasali wal-jubni wal bukhl wal harami wal qaswati wal ghaflati wal’aylat wadh-dhillat wal maskanati wa a’uudhu bikaminal faqri wal kufri wal fusuuqi wash-shiqaaqi wan nifaaqi was-sum’ati war-riyaai wa a’uudhu bika minas-samami wal bakami wal junuuni wal judhaami wal barasi wasay-yyiil-asqaami
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from Inability/ Weakness; Laziness/lethargy; Cowardice, Miserliness, Senility, Hard heartedness, Heedlessness, Deprivation/destitution; Humiliation/Disgrace, Poverty/misery; And I seek refuge in You from absolute poverty, Disbelief, Rebellion/iniquity; Dissension, Hypocrisy, Seeking fame, And showing off, And I seek refuge in You from deafness, Being mute, Insanity/madness; Leprosy, Leukederma, And from any bad illness.

From the Prophet (ﷺ) that he used to say:
اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ، وَالْقِلَّةِ، وَالذِّلَّةِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ أَظْلِمَ أو أُظْلَمَ
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal faqri wal qillati wadh-dhillati wa a’udhu bika min an adhlima aw udhlam
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from want, poverty and humiliation, and I seek refuge with You from wronging others or being wronged
[Narrated by Abu Dawood No. 1544, an-Nasai No. 5475, and in Al-Kubra, 4/451, No. 7438, Mustadrak Hakim, 1/531, Ahmad, 13 / 418, 8053, and al-Bayhaqi, 7/12, and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, 5/269, and Sahih Ibn Majah, no. 3099]
It was narrated that Urwah bin Maimun said: I heard ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge with Allah from five things and say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ، وَسُوءِ الْعُمُرِ، وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-buhkli, wal-jubni, wa suw’il- ‘umuri, wa fitnatis-sadri wa’ adhabil-qabr
O Allah! I seek refuge with You from stinginess, cowardice, the worst way of living, the trials inside the chest (heart) (i.e. envy, rancor, or false belief) and the torment of the grave
[Sunan an-Nasa’i 5469, Abu Dawood 1539, Ibn Hibban, 3/300 No 1024 and Bazzar 1/ 455. Classed as Hasan (Good) by al-Arna’oot in Jami al-Usool 4/363 and said regarding the narration of Sahih Ibn Hibban “Sahih isnad on the conditions of Muslim”, and al-Albani in Talikat alhasan 3/1073 (Sahih lighayrihi)]
On the authority of Sa’d ibn Abee Waqqas (رضي الله عنه), who said: seek refuge (in Allah) using words with which the Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek refuge (in Allah):
اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ البُخْلِ، وَأَعوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الجُبْنِ، وَأعُوذُ بِكَ أنْ أُرَدَّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ العُمُرِ، وَأعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدُّنْيَا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ القَبْرِ
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-Jubni wa a’udhu bika minal-Bukhli wa a’udhu bika min an Uradda ilā ardhalil-’Umur wa a’udhu bika min Fitnatid-Dunya wa ‘Adhābil-Qabr
O Allah! Verily, I seek refuge in You from al-Jubn (cowardice), and I seek refuge in You from al-Bukhl (stinginess), and I seek refuge in You from being returned to senility, and I seek refuge in You from Fitnatid-Dunya (the trials of this world) and ‘Adhābil-Qabr (the punishment of the grave). [Reported by al-Bukhari, no. 6374]
In other narrations the wordings are:
Sa`d used to teach his sons the following words as a teacher teaches his students the skill of writing and used to say that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to seek Refuge with Allah from them (i.e. the evils) at the end of every prayer. The words are:.. [Sahih al-Bukhari 2822]
Sa`d used to recommend five (statements) and mentioned that the Prophet (ﷺ) I used to recommend it. (It was)… [Sahih al-Bukhari 6365]
Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas used to recommend these five (statements) and say that the Prophet (ﷺ) said so (and they are)… [Sahih al-Bukhari 6370]
Narrated Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to teach us these words as he used to teach us the Book (Qur’an).. [Sahih al-Bukhari 6390]
أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّتِكَ الَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ،
الَّذِي لاَ يَمُوتُ وَالْجِنُّ وَالإِنْسُ يَمُوتُونَ
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas (radhi Allaahu anhuma): The Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وسلّم) used to say,
A’oodhu bi izzatika alladhee laa ilaaha illa Anta,
alladhee laa yamootu wal jinnu wal insu yamootoon
“I seek refuge (with You) by Your Izzat (Honour, Power and Glory) Laa ilaaha illa Anta, (none has the right to be worshipped but You), Who does not die while the jinns and the human beings die.”
